Early Childhood Educator Training with Best Start
In the heart of Antelope Valley, childcare providers embarked on an immersive learning experience at the Baby Signs® Early Childhood Educator Training. Held at the Children’s Bureau of Southern California and generously sponsored by Best Start Antelope Valley, this three-hour workshop was a catalyst for interactive learning and engagement. Dedication filled the room as childcare professionals from across Antelope Valley convened, each eager to glean insights that would enrich their practice and impact the lives of the children they serve. Among the participants were teachers from Palmdale Unified School District Early Head Start, family childcare providers, early childhood educators, doulas, and members of the AY Community Uplift Foundation.
The training session was designed to be dynamic and participatory, ensuring that every moment was maximized for learning and collaboration. One of the highlights was the incorporation of interactive activities such as Baby Signs® Bingo, Charades, and the creation of fun signing songs. These activities not only made learning enjoyable but also provided practical, hands-on experience that participants could immediately apply in their daily interactions with children.
During Baby Signs® Bingo, participants eagerly searched for signs on their bingo cards, reinforcing their knowledge of common signs used in the classroom. Charades added an element of excitement as participants took turns acting out signs, prompting their peers to guess the corresponding words. These games not only reinforced sign language vocabulary but also encouraged teamwork and camaraderie among participants.
One of the most memorable aspects of the training was the opportunity for participants to create their own signing songs. Armed with creativity and enthusiasm, participants collaborated to develop catchy tunes that incorporated basic signs.
